When promoted with this in an interview, I promise I won’t say a word about my childhood, or my cat or dog. But this isn’t an interview.

Born in Pensacola, I grew up in a small town on the Gulf of Mexico. My first job was at the (now-defunct) grocery store chain, Bruno’s when I was 15, and I graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School.

An interest in politics took me to college at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. During this time, I complimented my studies with multiple internships on Capitol Hill, and saw a bill that I wrote be introduced to, and passed by, the House of Representatives. Sure, it was technically a resolution and not a bill. And it wasn’t passed into law, it was agreed-upon by the House. And it commemorated the anniversary of a founding of a small town. But I’m proud of that non-binding resolution passed by voice vote.
Following graduation, I spent the next few years working for the House of Representatives. I spent the first 2 1/2 years working in the personal office of a congressman from out west then became the clerk for why I struggled to format my résumé - the United States House of Representatives committee on natural resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, WIldlife, Oceans, and Insular Affairs.

After a total of eight years living in DC, I was ready for a change. So, we packed our bags, and moved to Charlotte!

How did I end up in Property Management? Turns out, you can’t do much with a Politics degree in an area without a lot of politics. Looking for a change, I was on a bike ride, saw a sign in front of an apartment building that said “Under New Management” and figured - why not?

That was in 2017 - almost a decade ago. I’ve been in Charlotte for 14 years (!) and am obssessed with our cat, Berry, and our dog, Buddy.
